A man who police say tried to rape a Good Samaritan on University Bridge remained in the King County Jail on Monday after a King County District Court judge ordered him held without bail on suspicion of assault and attempted rape.
A woman was on the north end of University Bridge about 3 a.m. Saturday when she saw a man lying in the road who appeared to be injured. Cars were swerving to avoid hitting him, but police said he was staging his own bicycle accident.
She told police the man attacked her when she stopped to help.
